At Southway Primary School we believe it is vital for children to use creativity, imagination and technological knowledge.

Pupils design, make and evaluate products in an iterative process from Nursery to Year 6. They will safely use and explore a wide range of tools, materials and techniques.

Pupils learn to take risks, becoming resourceful, innovative and enterprising in order to solve relevant age-appropriate, context specific problems.

We believe that children should learn how to cook as it is a crucial life skill that enables pupils to feed themselves healthily and affordably now and in later life. Pupils should appreciate where food comes from, understand seasonality and know how a variety of ingredients are grown, reared, caught and processed.
