At Southway Primary School, we are immensely proud of the rich, varied and creative curriculum we provide for all our children. Our pupils are immersed in a balanced and broad range of lessons that are personalised to meet individual’s needs and ensure they learn more and remember more.

Vibrant learning environments, both inside and outside of the classroom provide stimulating areas in which our children learn and capture their sense of awe and wonder. High quality planning, teaching and learning support ensure that every child is offered a high standard of education.

Threaded throughout our curriculum is the ethos, ‘The best in everyone’ and the ‘Southway Seven’ are firmly embedded in every aspect of school life.

The National Curriculum is taught in a progressive manner whereby secure links are made to each subject. Below is an outline of the themes covered this year.

We teach phonics using the Letters & Sounds scheme. In KS2 we use Accelerated Reader and Lexia to support our children's reading.
