Southway Primary is committed to promoting internet safety as part of our safeguarding practices. Below are some useful links for parents and children to help understand how to keep safe using the internet.
CEOPS 'Think U Know' website is an excellent place to find information.
Come in to find the latest information on the sites you like to visit, mobiles and new technology. Find out what’s good, what’s not and what you can do about it. If you look after young people there’s an area for you too – with resources you can use in the classroom or at home. Most importantly, there’s also a place which anyone can use to report if they feel uncomfortable or worried about someone they are chatting to online. All the information here is brought to you by the team at the NCA's CEOP Command.
If you are a child with a concern but don't feel you can talk to anyone at
home or at school, remember there is always childline - calls are free and confidential:
Safer Internet Day occurs each year, usually in February. Southway Primary signs up to support this event by raising awareness in the week's assemblies and in lessons. Parents will have already received a free copy of the magazine 'Digital Parenting' but additional copies are available at the front office.
