We know that for a few families, their children may have different start and finish times. We ask that, once the first child has been dropped off to the appropriate entrance, parents wait on our large playground spaces, socially distanced from others please, before moving to the second child’s entrance at the appropriate time.
Please do not let your children run around the playground areas – please keep them with you while on site. Our ‘bubbles’ are classes so please avoid your child mixing with children from other classes wherever possible (except their siblings).
To help your children prepare for the return to school, we produced welcome presentations which can be found on the following page on our website: https://www.southwayprimary.co.uk/parent-page/transition-arrangements and this also has a link to our risk assessment.
As our front entrance is being used by our arriving Year 4 children, please can I ask you to avoid coming into the entrance to speak to the office wherever possible, and particularly during those times. Please do contact us by phone or by email and we will do our best to help you. Similarly, to keep all our children and staff safe, parents may not enter our building via any other entrance or be within the building without prior appointment.
Please keep safe and follow all the guidance on hygiene and social distancing to minimise you and your family’s risk of infection. We will continue to follow the guidance from the government and Public Health England and adopt it in full as required. This advice is clear that there is no requirement for primary pupils to wear face coverings at school. The changes that you may have read about with regards to this only apply to secondary school pupils.
On behalf of all the staff at Southway, we would like to thank you for all your co-operation and support in the weeks to come. We will come through this together as a school community.
