Welcome to EYFS 2

Our first term is called Knock Knock Here I Am.  We are bringing in treasure boxes we have made at home that are full of things that are special to us. We are sharing our treasure boxes with our friends and finding  out what we had in common! We are exploring 'My Map Book' by Sara Fanelli which will lead the majority of our learning......

Autumn Term 2016

Welcome to the new children in our EYFS2 year group.

We have started school! Following a home visit from our teachers, we are getting to know our new classmates and routines of school really well.

We are going to work alongside an artist, who will give us top tips for drawing a portrait. Then we will  create a map of our face.

We will go on a walk to deliver letters for John the Postman, who has broken his leg. We will look in detail at the buildings in our local area, the shapes they are made with and the materials they were made of. We will use this experience to create a map of our neighbourhood.

We will have a post office in our classroom and get into role as postal workers and proficient letter writers!
At Christmas we will dance with Kate and tell the Christmas Story.  We hope that lots of our grown-ups will come to watch us!

Spring Term 2017

Yum! Yum!

We return to school to find some visitors! The characters from Hey Diddle Diddle want go an adventure and have asked for our help to pack their suitcase!

As the Dish and the Spoon go on their travels we find out about food from the places they are visiting.  At first the Dish and the Spoon are travelling to Italy.  They ask us to find out about Italian food so we are going to pizza express to make our own pizzas!  As more postcards arrive from the Dish and the Spoon we find out more about the world around us.

We are inviting experts in to tell us more about cooking and eating a healthy diet as well as going on a trip to find out more about where our food comes from.

Every week we practise dance with our professional dance teacher Kate and our dance this term will be based upon the dish and spoon's adventures.

Summer 2017

Fantastic Farms!

We come back to find a letter from Farmer Gerald to ask for help to plant his bean seeds and to ask if we would like to visit his farm. We accept his invitation and have a fantastic day at Gaston Farm. We see chicks, lambs, sheep and even have a ride on a tractor!

A friend of Farmer Gerald's arrives with his chickens to help us learn about life cycles.  We explore the text 'Egg Drop' by Mini Grey and need to find ways to protect our egg.

We open our gates to three other farmers who bring their tremendous tractors to show us!

We end the year with a fabulous finish with our families in school to see us perform some songs and poems, see the fantastic work we have done this year and join us in a country dance with Kate.
